The PTFE is formed by stretching and extrusion, with pore size of 0.1~1.0 micron, the filtration is unique after fabricating into filter membrane. The film filter material achieves a true surface filtration effect. The advantages of the PTFE Membrane Filter are that it can completely retain the suspended solids on the surface of the membrane, and due to the excellent and non-stick characteristic of the material and its very low frictional coefficient,the possibility of plugging is greatly reduced. This gives rise to maximum liquid flux and effectiveness in collecting the solids in the liquid. The dense, porous and smooth PTFE Membrane film essentially reduces the penetration of solid particles to close to zero, its low frictional coefficient, chemical stability and surface smoothness characteristics only requires a pressure of 0.5 to 1.0 Bar for effective filtration. The surface of the membrane film can easily be cleaned, a very short cleaning time (matter of seconds)is needed to restore the membrane to its original clean condition, basically making the filtration a continuous process. At the same time, PTFE is a very strong material, which makes the membrane life time much longer than the normal filtration material. Our biaxial ePTFE membrane is a biaxial (bidirectional) orientated PTFE seamless membrane. The porosity and strength of the membrane (single fiber breaking strength of > 50 lbs) is larger than the uniaxial membrane. The pore size can be adjusted between the range of 0.1 to 0.5 micron during manufacturing. The membrane surface pore size is 0.2 micron, ensuring the quality of the filtrate. The membrane is cast molded through one time forming, with no requirement for subsequent sealing and fastening, avoiding possible leakage after pro-longed usage. The special structured components ensure the membrane can be operated stably under adverse condition. The membrane filtration unit is designed for ease of installation and membrane elements replacement.

Principle of Cross-flow Filter:

1. The liquid to be filtered is pumped to the Filter.
2. The liquid is circulated and flows parallel to the surface of the membrane
3.The filtrate passes through the membrane surface and flows to the upper filtrate discharge chamber
4. After a period of filtration, small quantity of impurities form on the membrane surface, the membrane surface is backwashed
5. Compressed air is used for further scrubbing. The filter content is finally drained, membrane is restored to its original condition and filtration is restarted.

Conventional Depth Filtration usually has filtration medium with large pore sizes, where initially the solid particles penetrates through the surface of the medium and the suspended solids in the filtrate will be higher initially. After a period of time,the surface of the medium is accumulated with filter cake, which then acts as a filter aid, producing filtrate of the required quality. However, the filtration pressure also increases at the same time, and the liquid flux rate reduces. A backwash can remove some of the filter cake at the surface of the medium, but will not be able to remove the impurities in the filter cake, which then results in poorer filtration.
For surface filtration, the solid particles are blocked at the membrane surface. After a period of operation, an automatic wash for a few seconds will push the solids from the membrane surface and restore the membrane to the original condition. The solids do not penetrate the surface of membrane throughout the filtration process, producing a filtrate of very high quality.
